Who Is It For?

Young people from all kinds of backgrounds find Wayfinder a welcome change from their previous school experiences. Some are bright and capable but felt bored or unchallenged. Others had learning differences their schools weren't fully equipped to address, or passions they wanted to pursue without school taking up most of their time. Some felt lost in the social scene, were bullied, or found the structure of traditional school stifling. Others are longtime homeschoolers looking for daily peer connection and community.
What they all share is a belief that there's a better fit out there for them — and a desire to take ownership of their own learning and growth. Wayfinder Collaborative is here to help teens and their families make that transition, on their own terms and for their own purposes.
The Joining Process
1. Start a conversation — Get in touch to ask initial questions and set up a time to talk. We'll get to know your family and share more about how Wayfinder works.
2. Come for a visit — We'll invite your teen to spend a day at Wayfinder to meet our members and staff and get a real feel for the community.
3. Submit an application — If it feels like a good fit, the next step is to fill out our Member Application.
4. Hear back from us — If space is available and we believe Wayfinder is a good fit, we'll offer your teen a membership spot.
Once a teen joins, they're matched with a staff mentor who helps them settle in and find learning opportunities that align with their interests and goals.
Membership Fees
Wayfinder Collaborative is committed to being an economically diverse community. We work with families of all financial backgrounds and offer need-based fee reductions to make Wayfinder accessible to as many teens as possible.
Our tuition for the inaugural year is $3,500, pro-rated for members who join mid-year. We expect our fee structure to evolve as we grow, but our commitment to accessibility will not.
We welcome applications and new members at any point throughout the year.
